CRADLE TO GRAVE Enlists DEVIN TOWNSEND To Mix New Album

August 14, 2007

CRADLE TO GRAVE, the band featuring ex-AGGRESSION guitarist Denis "Sasquatch" Barthe, has enlisted Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, LAMB OF GOD, DARKEST HOUR, GWAR) to mix and master the group's new album, "Texas Medicine", due later in the year via Year of the Sun Records.

"We got introduced to Devin through a mutual friend which is kind of ironic since I know Gene Hoglan [STRAPPING YOUNG LAD] way back from the DARK ANGEL days but never had the chance to meet Devin via the drum god," says Barthe.

"We're almost done all the vocals and guitar solos which will be followed by our favorite mad scientist mixing up the insanity."

The CD was recorded at Speaker Freaker Studios in Surrey, British Columbia.

"There is not one similar song and we wanted to confuse the shit out of people. I'm pretty sure we succeeded," says Barthe about the album's sonic direction. "You pretty much got it all in there; crushing '80s hardcore crossover, high-flying-velocity riffs, insane drumming, thrash metal attack, Cavanagh's arsenal of screams, epic war songs, Yes-inspired acoustic pieces. I mean, we're all over the place. We wanted to create an album that surprises our listeners."

CRADLE TO GRAVE recently announced the return of ex-KARRION and ASSAULT drummer Matt Fowler to its ranks. The band has four tracks from its debut album uploaded at this location.

"Texas Medicine" track listing:

01. Five Years of Fire
02. At War With Myself
03. Fuck It Up
04. Broken God
05. I Am Nothing
06. At Last
07. From Nowhere To Nowhere
08. The Light
10. Daughters
11. Nothing Left To Taste
12. Beheaded In Paris
